Biography

Charmaine first arrived on the scene as a member of the reggae girl group Worl-A-Girl. Since then, Charmaine has revamped her style and image to reflect her multifaceted musical influences. In her fiery debut entitled, Say You Love Me Charmaine reaches yet another musical plateau. As her first solo project since Worl-A-Girl, Charmaine has laced this gutsy album with a mélange of rock, reggae, and R&B inspirations. Charmaine was an integral part of Worl-A-Girl's early success story having substancially penned most of the group's early hits. "I Can't Wait," "You That I Want," and "Jamaica Bobsled Chant" are all songs for which Charmaine's keen songwriting abilities were mostly responsible.


With Worl-A-Girl, Charmaine traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean and United States as well as Japan, on various tours including Reggae Sunsplash and Japan Splash. The group has appeared on Late Night With David Letterman, The Arsenio Hall Show, BET's Teen Summit, MTV and Channel 13's What's the 411, as well as numerous regional cable video shows. Charmaine has also been a prominent guest host on WLIB radio with Bob Fredricks. The talented songstress holds a Bachelor's degree in English Literature, is a member of Phi Beta Kappa honor society, Golden Key International Honor Society and recently obtained an Executive MBA in Media Management. When asked how she finds time and energy to do it all Charmaine's response is "I just do it. I make the time for what is important to me." With her energy, dedication and obvious talent, this woman is bound to go far.

ABOUT STONEY HILL MUSIC, LLC


Stoney Hill Music, LLC is the brainchild of music aficionado Charmaine DaCosta. DaCosta, a former member of the dancehall/R&B girl group Worl-A-Girl, became deeply determined to create music that reflected the many influences which infuse her heartfelt solo performances, thus Stoney Hill Music was born. DaCosta's first project on Stoney Hill Music is the gutsy rock-laced Say You Love Me. Though Say You Love Me has not been met with the enthusiasm in which Charmaine had hoped, she still receives encouragement from music insiders to showcase her necessary contribution to the music industry.
